Role of cholesterol in human body :

Cholesterol is an organic molecule biosynthesized by all animal cells and is an important structural component of all animal cell membrane in our body. The hepatic cells of liver excrete cholesterol into bile, which is non esterified in nature.  while most of ingested cholesterol are esterified, which causes it to be poorly absorbed by the gut and absorbed fat are being distributed around the body into the extracellular fluid and get deposited into the visceral organs or internal organs. you cannot remove these fats by any means and we easily invite the obesity like diseases.

A human male weighing 68 kg synthesizes one gram of cholesterol per day and his body contains 35 grams mostly within the cell membrane. In USA 307 grams of cholesterol consumption is there per person per day.

On the other hand, plants produces phyto sterols (substance chemically similar to cholesterol) when comes in contact of cells lining intestine, it excretes back the phytosterol into Gastro intestinal system back, by a kind of defence mechanism.

Some benefits of being vegetarian listed below :

1. Low risk of heart diseases in vegetarians

The excess cholesterol in our blood flows into arteries, it get deposited into the inner lining of cells in arteries, responsible for interruption in blood circulation which causes heart troubles such as stroke, heart attack or heart failure.

2. Liver works well in vegetarian

liver plays an important role in our body. It regulates, support digestive system by excreting cholesterol. It is an important body organ. Liver failure causes fatal diseases, which ultimately leads to death. When the dietary cholesterol by intake of non-vegetarian food increases cholesterol level into bloodstream, the liver stops synthesizing its own cholesterol. heart and liver are such organs in our body if they stop to work properly, recovery is very difficult. Non-vegetarians are more prone to risk of liver and  heart diseases.
